These weekends are a time for fathers and sons to connect with one another while at the same time experiencing fun in an outdoor environment. Activities for the weekend may include: rock climbing, rappelling, hiking, biking, as well as the day trips. Join New Life Adventures for this special weekend and make a significant impact in your son’s life.

Arrival will be Friday night at 6:00 p.m. A delicious campfire cooked dinner will await you. The retreat will end on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. after lunch. A confirmation letter will be mailed out after receiving your registration form. This letter will contain packing instructions and further details on the adventure retreat. The price for the retreat is $99 for father/son combo - Includes 2 nights, 6 meals and snacks. ($5 discount if paid in full one week before retreat start date). Sign up soon, space is limited to only 6 father/son combos. Scholarships are available.

Planning Your Retreat:

Directions to Adventure Camp are as follows; from Tarwater Road, turn left on Sugar Hollow Road (just before large green New Life sign), follow Sugar Hollow Road 6/10 mile to the Adventure Camp site. Once checked in and unpacked, cars can be parked down beside maintenance buildings.

Special arrangements for you and your child to arrive late or to leave early can be accommodated if advance notice is given.

Emergencies: In the case of an emergency or accident call the camp office at (814) 842-3778 or (814) 842-3325. Please notify us at the beginning of the retreat if there are any medical conditions we need to be aware of.

Food is an important item at camp. You and your child may be involved in this activity also. If you or your child has food allergies or other special considerations, please let us know prior to camp so we can make adjustments to your menu.

Medications should be in the original container marked with the name, dosage information and correct time intervals. Medications will be kept and administered by camp staff.

The Snack Shop sells a variety of items from keepsakes to snacks. T-shirts and Hats will be available for purchase during the weekend. These items range from $9.00 to $15.00 (snacks & sodas are 50¢).
Be sure to include in your luggage a backpack which you can carry your water bottle, food, personal items and clothes during hiking trips. This backpack shouldn't be a large one, remember, you'll have to carry it. But it should be about the size of the ones used for schoolbooks.

Accomodations:

The Adventure Camp site is used for our base camp during this retreat. Click here to tour the facilities at our Adventure Camp. You will be staying in tents at the adventure campsite. This campsite is only 6/10 of a mile from Tarwater Road. Daily activities will take place at various locations on and off the camp's property. There are no electrical outlets for the campers and no "plumbing". There will be portable toilets and plenty of drinking water. You will be sleeping on wooden platforms under a canvas tent. A mattress pad or a egg crate foam pad is a must and will help to keep you warm. Please do not bring any double or queen size cots or mattresses.

What to Bring:

Sleeping bag and pillow (two sleeping bags works well in very cold weather), ground pad or foam mattress (a must!), a towel and wash cloth, small backpack for day trip, [clothes for a weekend]--weather dependent-- jacket and sweatshirt, old jeans & T-shirt, long-sleeve t-shirt, windbreaker and rain gear, knit hat (something that covers the ears), toiletries, trashbags for dirty clothes, lip balm, sunscreen, comfortable hiking shoes & socks, spending money, Bible, notepad, pencil, Ziplock bags to keep important things from getting wet (Bible, etc.), Pocket knive, Medications (if any), flashlight and batteries, Water bottle or canteen
Pack only what you need. There will be limited space to keep your belongings.
Please mark your belongings/clothes/toiletries with your name. Use a permanent marker when possible.

What NOT to Bring:

Radio/CD/tape player/DVD, video games, weapons (except for a pocket knife), drugs or tobacco products. NOTE: There is no cell phone service available on the New Life Bible Camp property.
