About the Missionaries...
Ron & Kathleen Weber
We
will be working with Ron & Kathleen Weber. They have
been serving with ABWE (Association of Baptists for
World Evangelism) in Brazil for about 34 years as missionaries.
For many years, Ron taught at Fortaleza Academy which
is a school for missionary kids. The Webers started
a successful AWANA program which opened new doors for
them to present the Gospel to parents and resulted in
growth in their Sunday School. Once moving to Mossoró,
the Webers continued to serve through church planting.
They have seen eight churches established and their goal
is to strengthen other churches in the area. They also
desire to disciple and train Brazilians in these churches
to be spiritual leaders. They are currently living in
Mossoró (about 3 hours south of Fortaleza). They are
active in building new churches there as well as visiting
and encouraging the churches they started in Fortaleza.
They are a wonderful group of people to work with and
a lot of fun. They will be a blessing in your walk with
the Lord. Our mission trip will help encourage them
and assist them in their outreach efforts.

Uires dos Santos
Uires is a native Brazilian and has a heart for her own people. She does not speak English but has accompanied the team since 2005 and has forged close friendships beyond the language barrier. Uires is a Brazilian school missionary. In Brazil, the schools are open to the Gospel being preached and will even hire Bible teachers with one exception. Bible Teachers cannot be salaried by the school and must find their own support. Uires has been teaching Bible and doing follow-up with each of the people that make professions of faith. She is a blessing to work with and it’s good to know that someone is continuing the work once we leave.
