2011 Summer Staff
- SUMMER / VOLUNTEER STAFF -

Grades 4-5 Week - 2010 We are glad that you are interested in serving with us at New Life Bible Camp this summer. Below are a list of our positions available each summer at both Main Camp and Adventure Camp. Counselors, Kitchen Staff, and Adventure Camp Staff all receive a financial gift at the end of the summer. This gift is determined by the Board of Directors and ranges from $130-$145 per week of service. At the bottom of this page, you can download the necessary forms to begin the application process. The descriptions below will help you understand what position you can apply for and how many positions are still available. Volunteer positions are outlined further down the page. Volunteers serve up to 2 weeks maximum in a wide variety of areas at camp.

Kitchen Helpers (1), Main Camp

Main Camp - Counselor (5 Guys, 5 Girls)
   High school graduate or older.
Responsibilities include leading your cabin's campers through their daily schedule. You will lead activities and be involved with cabin groups. You will also lead morning and evening devotions and a cabin Bible study during the day's schedule. Using the camp's activities, surroundings and your interests, you main responsibility is to lead each child in your care to a deeper knowledge and understanding of who God is.


Main Camp - Head Cook
  High school graduate or older.
Responsibilities include managing the kitchen at the Main Lodge: meal preparation, supervising kitchen helpers, and preparing supply lists. The majority of your responsibilities will be task oriented, but interpersonal skills are needed to lead a cooperative kitchen staff.


Main Camp - Kitchen Helpers (3)
  High school students, 15 years or older.
You will assist the Head Cook in meal preparation, setup, and clean up. The areas of main responsibilities are the Dining Room and the Kitchen. After each meal there are times to join in with the camp's scheduled activities and help when time permits.


Adventure Camp Staff (2 Guys, 2 Girls)
  High school gradutate or older.
As an Adventure Camp staff person working at Camp Curly your responsibilities are similar to those of a counselor at Main Camp, but in a rustic, outdoor setting. Camp Curly is based at our Adventure Camp site 6/10 of a mile from the Main Lodge. There are two platform tents, a kitchen/dining pavilion, and a versatile fire pit or cooking and campfires. You will lead your campers through the adventure activities of the day. Some of these act ivies are away from camp property; whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hiking and mountain biking.


Volunteers

Camp Nurse
Serving at the Main Lodge, your duties are administering camper medications, care and documentation of camper and staff's minor injuries, and working with counselors to maintain the health of the campers and staff. In appreciation for your help, we offer a free week of camp to one of your children or a child of your choice.

Support Staff
  High school student.
You will help out at Main Camp working on special tasks, assisting with activities, providing an extra hand in grounds maintenance and be available to help wherever needed.

Maintenance
New Life needs help keeping up with routine maintenance tasks throughout the summer. These tasks include: mowing, weed eating, cutting firewood, and facility repairs. This service would not require a weekly commitment, just a frequent visit to the camp for help with current needs.
