Dear Friends and Supporters
There are a lot of good things going on this time of the year at New Life Bible Camp. The 2024 retreat season is in full bloom as the majority of the weekends are booked either for church youth group retreats or a New Life Bible Camp hosted event. The hosted events will begin the second weekend of March with what we have always called the “Small Group Retreat.” As of right now, we know of four small church groups that are planning on being with us for this event. The speaker for this event is Trey Hensley, Pastor of The Camp of Faith Ministry, located in Stephens City VA. The focus of his lessons will be based out of Psalm 1:1-6. Another aspect of this event is that we participate in the Dodge Ball Tournament that is held on Saturday at Calvary Bible Church. The next hosted event will be the annual Men’s Retreat that is scheduled for March 22-23 (with an option to stay an extra day and depart Sunday morning). Our speaker is Zach Weaver’s father-in-law, Pastor Grant Appell, who is also speaking from Psalm chapter 1. Another popular hosted weekend is the Family Retreat Getaway, which is scheduled for April 26-28. This events sells out quickly. Currently I have room for one more family, but there is also an option for families to come for Saturday only at a discounted price. This year, we will have a guest speaker (2 actually). Wes Rinehart, a local youth pastor from Frostburg area, will be speaking twice on Saturday. Zach Weaver will speak Friday night and I will close things out with a short devotional time before everyone departs Sunday morning. If your family is interested in grabbing that last open space, get in touch with me ASAP.
Plans for Summer Camp are going well. It looks like we will have another wonderful staff. There are still a couple positions that are yet to be filled, so if you have someone in your family or church that would like to be part of a ministry this summer, they should contact us soon. We are looking for applications for counselors, junior counselors, day camp assistants, kitchen staff, and volunteers (camp Mom/Nurse & maintenance).
We are planning on hosting a Celebration Dinner, probably in late April or early May, we just have not set up the date yet (hopefully we will soon). The Guitar Night has been going well. We have had as many as 7 show up to play. We try to meet once a month, usually on the second Tuesday of each month, but that is always subject to change.
Thank you so much for your faithfulness in supporting me and encouraging me in my work here as one of the full time camp missionaries at New Life Bible Camp. God bless you all!
Ever Only Jesus
