Camp Director

Todd & Kim Donaldson

Todd grew up in East Asia, the son of missionaries with OMF (Overseas Missionary Fellowship). Most of his time was spent in Thailand. After returning to the States and graduating from High School, he received his bachelor's degree from Troy State University, AL. After graduation, he began working at Ida Lee Recreation Center in Leesburg, VA. This is where he met Kim. Kim grew up in the United States living in Arizona, Oklahoma, New Jersey and Virginia due to numerous transfers for her father's employment with the US government. She graduated from University of Virginia with a master's degree. Following college, she began to work at Ida Lee too. We were married on October 4, 1997 and began our ministry at New Life Bible Camp just a week later. We have five wonderful children, Timothy, Bailey, Abigail, Chloe, and Quincy. We are a homeschooling family, who loves camp! The wide open spaces allow our family to enjoy wooded forests, fishing on the pond, the camp horses, the hiking and biking trails, and many other camp 'amenities' that many other families would love to have in their backyard.

Adventure Camp & Mechanic

Zach & Megan Weaver

Zach grew up in Statesville, NC attending and also volunteering at a small camp. Megan grew up in Delevan, NY being involved with the church her Dad pastored. She also grew up going to camp, enjoys working with kids, and ministering to people. Zach and Megan met when his family moved to western New York December of 2013. God brought their paths together which continued throughout college as they both graduated from Appalachian Bible College, WV. Zach graduated with a dual degree in Bible/Theology and Camp Ministry while Megan graduated with a dual degree in Bible/Theology and Missions. During college, Zach heard about New Life Bible Camp's adventure program from a fellow student. Zach continued to stay open to whatever God would have for him to do. A year later God crossed Zach's path with New Life's camp director, Todd Donaldson, at a camp conference in PA. After talking with Todd for hours over several days of the conference Zach left the conference excited and convicted about going to New Life. New Life seemed to be a perfect fit for them and after praying about it and visiting the camp multiple times the Lord quickly provided half of their financial support in six months time. They were married in March 2019 and moved to begin ministry at New Life in May 2019. Zach and Megan have a passion to use adventure such as camping, rock climbing, caving, rappelling, and rafting for spiritual impact! Adventure experiences pull a person out of their comfort zone providing amazing opportunities to use it for God's glory! Zach also enjoys working with his hands maintaining vehicles, equipment, and gear while Megan helps with the adventure program during the summer and works with Zach from time to time on projects. Her role transitioned more to being a mother with the arrival of Ellianna in March 2021. Megan and Zach are excited to be a part of the staff at New Life serving God through adventure!

Our  Philosopy

People are in a constant struggle to find satisfaction, fulfillment, and security. Too frequently we settle with temporary distractions such as work, money, prestige and entertainment. But God has made us so that ultimate satisfaction can only be found in Him. However, man has ignored his basic sin problem and the provision that God has made.

Since man has failed to live up to God's holy standards, he is faced with the judgment of being separated from God eternally in Hell. But because God loved us, He sent His Son to pay the penalty for our sins through His death upon the cross. The resurrection of Christ ensures for us eternal salvation.

What then, must we do in order to be saved? Simply believe His message and rely upon Jesus Christ as your Savior.

Jesus said: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me has everlasting life." (John 6:47)

The Lord has also provided the way for true satisfaction, genuine fulfillment and eternal security. Eternal security is found in our eternal relationship with the Father, satisfaction and fulfillment is found in the New Life Jesus came to bring.

"I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)

God has provided the solution for our needs. It is New Life; it is free, full, satisfying, happy, peaceful and secure. This is the message we share at New Life Bible Camp.God's Word has the answer to every one of man's problems. We want to share His answers with you.

We realize that in our fast-paced society there is a great need for people to get away from all the pressures and distractions and seriously consider God's provision. Even our Lord Himself cherished the opportunities He enjoyed of intimate fellowship with the Father.

We at New Life want to join with your ministry in building up the church. Camp is a unique setting, bringing campers away from their everyday world and regular routines. Camp then becomes one of the most positive environments for teaching values and skills, evangelizing and discipling, and therefore allowing the Lord to make that "new creation" in Christ, (2 Cor. 5:17).

"Sanctify them in the truth; thy word is truth! (John 17:17). "As Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. "(Rom. 6:4).

Our History

Our  History

Ed & Peg Donaldson were high school sweethearts who married in 1943 and started a family. Ed was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army and served in World War II. Upon the death of his father, Edwin B. Donaldson, Sr., he returned to take over the family business, E.B. Donaldson & Son, a paving contractor in the Washington D.C. area. In 1951 both Ed & Peg realized their spiritual need and accepted the Lord as their Savior. Throwing themselves into their local church, they began to teach Sunday School and lead Bible studies. During this time they were introduced to the Christian Home & League Conference and Child Evangelism, the combination of these two organizations helped birth the vision of a youth camp. As they taught and interacted with the youth around them, they began to feel the call from the Lord to begin a youth camp with the goal of sharing the gospel and training up Christian youth in God’s Word.

Ed & Peg purchased a dairy farm near Gettysburg, PA in 1957 with hopes that the farm would soon support a youth camp. God had other plans, and after realizing that dairy farming was not financially profitable and having a major road (Route 15) bypass dissect the farm’s property, the Donaldson’s sold the property and began looking further away from the Washington DC area for a piece of property. In 1969 they saw a notice of some property available in Bedford County, PA and upon arriving to view the property, they knew that this was where God would have them begin the youth camp. In December of that same year, they purchased the small farmhouse and 150 acres and went about fixing the house up to live in and began putting their dreams of a youth camp into reality.

The Foundation - BasementProvidentially, the Donaldsons visited a small church in Kennel’s Mill, just a few miles from the camp, which had a new, young pastor by the name of Ken Korns. With the help of many of the families of Calvary Bible Church (which moved to Ellerslie, MD) and their own family, work began to carve out a camp from the rugged mountainous land. Peg wasted no time in starting the programs while Ed put the infrastructure in place. In the summer of 1972 children were picked up in vehicles around the area and brought to camp where crafts, pony rides, and Bible stories were all a part of the first summer at New Life Bible Camp. Shortly after that summer work began on the Main Lodge and when it was complete in 1974, it was, and still is the hub of activity. The Donaldsons had six children, and all have had a part in the ministry. One of Ed’s favorite quotes was fulfilled, “Only one life will soon be passed, only what’s done for Christ will last.”

Since 1972 New Life has had summer camps each year and the mission remains the same as the vision that Ed & Peg had back in the early 1950s. New Life exists to share the Good News with all who attend and to encourage and equip believers to be useful in God’s service here on earth.
