We are glad that you are interested in serving with us at New Life Bible Camp this summer. Below are a list of our positions available this summer. Counselors, Kitchen Staff, Service Staff & Media Tech Staff all receive a salary for their work. The salary ranges from $195-$225 per week (depending on the position). At the bottom of this page, you will find the necessary links to begin the application process. The descriptions below will help you understand what position you can apply for and how many positions are still available. Volunteer positions are outlined further down the page. Volunteers serve up to 2 weeks maximum in a wide variety of areas at camp.

We ask that paid summer staff commit to nine weeks of summer camp. This nine weeks begins with Staff Training Week (paid) and then follows with eight (8) weeks of camp.

Staff Job Descriptions

Program Leader

Upperclass College Student or Older

Responsibilities include implementing the summer program schedule for Camp Kainos.  This position is a unique leadership role that will help with teaching, leading activities and events, encouraging the summer staff, and assisting in the other New Life programs during the summer.  The Program Assistant will also be attentive to the camper needs and communicate with counselors, parents and campers when needed.

Camp Kainos - Head Cook

High school graduate or older

Responsibilities include managing the kitchen at the Main Lodge: meal preparation, supervising kitchen helpers, and preparing supply lists. The majority of your responsibilities will be task oriented, but interpersonal skills are needed to lead a cooperative kitchen staff.

Day Camp - Counselor

High school graduate or older

Responsibilities include leading your elementary aged campers through their daily schedule. You will also lead high school student assistants (volunteers) as they help with the Day Camp Program. Campers are here Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. You will stay in the Main Lodge with the Camp Kainos staff and join them when you are able. The Day Camp program has a weekly theme that allows for creativity, fun Field Trips, and interesting games and activities. The most important role is to lead each child in your care to a deeper knowledge and understanding of who God is.

Camp Kainos - Counselor

High school graduate or older

Responsibilities include leading your cabin's campers through their daily schedule. You will lead activities and be involved with cabin groups. You will also lead morning and evening devotions and a cabin Bible study during the day's schedule. Using the camp's activities, surroundings and your interests, you main responsibility is to lead each child in your care to a deeper knowledge and understanding of who God is.

Adventure Camp - Staff

High school graduate or older

Lead adventure campers through an outdoor experience in conjunction with the Adventure Program Coordinator. Adventure staff counsel campers and lead in activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, caving, playing games, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, cooking over a fire, and camping.

Camp Kainos - Kitchen Helper

11th Grade or older

You will assist the Head Cook in meal preparation, setup, and clean up. The areas of main responsibilities are the Dining Room and the Kitchen. After each meal there are times to join in with the camp's scheduled activities and help when time permits.

Media Tech

College students preferred

Responsibilities include all photo and video aspects at camp. Taking group & cabin photos, activity photos, videos of activities and events. You will be responsible for editing photos and videos for use on the website, publication and social networks. Publications of slideshow and/or video highlights of the week are also requested. It is required that an applicant has their own camera and picture/video editing software. This job could be used as a summer internship for a media/graphic design major.

Horse Wrangler

High school graduate or older

Lead the horse programs at Camp Kainos and
Day Camp as well as the care and feeding of
the horses.

Volunteer Job Descriptions

Camp Nurse

19 Years of age or older

A medically trained person willing to provide care and give support to campers who are injured, ill, or need medication. In appreciation for your week of service, your child will receive a free week of camp..

Media Tech Assistant

High School or College Age

Responsibilities include working alongside the Media Tech. You will assist in taking photos and videos of camp activities and helping to cover the various camp programs. Editing of photos and videos will be an integral part of your volunteer work. Maximum of two weeks.

Maintenance

Various

New Life needs help keeping up with routine maintenance tasks throughout the summer. These tasks include: mowing, weed eating, cutting firewood, and facility repairs. This service would not require a weekly commitment, just a frequent visit to the camp for help with current needs.

Camp Kainos - Junior Counselor

High school student

Assist the counselor in leading campers throught the daily schedule and helping with activities and games.

Day Camp - Assistant

  High school student

Excited campers will arrive daily, you will work with the Day Camp staff to see that the Day Camp program is fun, exciting, and safe. You will be asked to build relationships with children 7-13 years of age and help them through all the activities and programs of the day. Each day, after the Day Camp program wraps up, you jump into the Kainos schedule and join the fun there.
